Selecting the Arch Supports And Shoes That Are
Right For You
Our arch supports are unlike the sponge
rubber or silicone products that you typically find in drug stores
and that range in price from $5.00 to $40.00. 360° arch supports
are more similar to orthotics which are custom made from a molded
cast of your feet and which typically cost between $200.00 to $400.00
and more. Sponge rubber and silicone products, generally, absorb pressure
and do little to transfer weight or correct alignment. They also flatten
after wearing them for short periods, usually a couple of months,
and therefore lose much of their effectiveness to absorb pressure.
Our products are semi-firm or firm and therefore function more like
custom made products that will help address alignment and weight distribution
issues as well as absorb shock. Since our products are generally made
from polypro shell material, you can expect to receive many years
of wear and functional support.
The
foot has four arches, medial, lateral,
metatarsal and transverse arches.
When your feet are not properly supported your entire body can become
out of alignment. With your feet not properly supported and body
out of alignment, you can experience many different problems. Conditions
like joint pain (knees, hips, back, and ankles) can occur.
To best understand these consider the fact that your arches serve
as shock absorbers. To function at their best it is important for
your arches to be properly supported and to allow your weight to
be evenly distributed over your feet. Additionally, when standing
or walking on hard surfaces your feet can become tired and achy.
Body weight also becomes unevenly distributed
when the four arches are not supported. Remember, when your feet
are not properly supported you can put stress on your forefoot and
heels. When you have excessive pressure in these areas you can experience
painful conditions like heel pain and pain in the forefoot.
